September Angel Day

September is National Sewing Month.

To celebrate, I will be hosting an Angel Day in late September at our home in north Phoenix. The date has not yet been set but will be either the 19th or the 26th.

It will be a time of meeting, greeting, sharing, laughing, sewing, knitting, and crocheting for the Angels. Stop in for a few hours or all day.

If you are not able to join us but wish to help, you can help celebrate by sending knit or crocheted blankets for the Angels, or ...even rolls of white, off white, or pastel ribbons.

And don't think you can't contribute anything if you don't sew, knit, or crochet.... There are lots of ways that you help to get these Angel items ready for delivery to hospitals, funeral homes, birthing centers, etc.

Message me via the blog with your name/email/phone number for more information.
Seating will be limited to about 12.

Tools of the trade

I can not express how much I appreciate the cash, gift cards and other donations I have received.

Your generous cash donations will sponsor postal shipments to hospitals, birthing centers, funeral homes and mortuaries in Iowa, Arizona, and throughout the country.  Cash is also used for any sewing machine repairs that I can not complete, which fortunately, isn't often.

Gift cards are used for sewing machine needles, packing materials, supplies, and other incidentals.

I receive packages of laces....
and ribbons....
and threads.... *
 Oh, my!!

 And so beautiful!

I am deeply moved and very appreciative of the prayers that often accompany the packages...
Most recent:

"May God bless the work of your hands and that you will find favor with those around you."

Please know that these donations take a great deal of pressure off me regarding the ongoing support of Angelgownsbyjacki.  They allow me to concentrate on creating precious gowns for Angelbabies from the beautiful donations of dresses, laces, and trims and getting them shipped to be available for the families.

*Any items that I can not use or are not appropriate are traded or sold for items needed or more appropriate.

Would you like to participate in the AngelGowns project for a day?

AngelGownsbyjacki is offering a day camp on Saturday, March 7, 2015 to offer opportunities to take part in this wonderful program.

The Sewing for the Angels day camp will allow you to work on AngelGowns and AngelCaps that have been pre-cut into sets for you.  You will get to share the experience of choosing a size, picking out and adding embellishments and ribbons, and sewing them together.

Samples will be available, along with complete instructions.

No worries if you haven’t done any garment sewing.  It’s a more forgiving than quilt piecing and perfection is not required.

There will also be hand sewing for anyone is interested in choosing that as their specialty for the day to help others finish their gowns.

All supplies to assemble the AngelGowns will be provided and you can do one, or many, sets.

If you are in the Phoenix area and would like to participate, please email with your name, sewing experience, and contact telephone number for more information.

Publicity photos will be taken and seating is limited.
