(Re-) Introducing our 2016 Fundraiser!

Angelgownsbyjacki works 100% on donations and volunteer hours.  

The cold, hard facts are that to allow Angelgownsbyjacki to continue to provide service or burial accoutrement to families of preterm babies that become An Angel Too Soon, we need things.

We need donated wedding dresses, donated sewing and embellishment supplies, and sewing machine maintenance, parts and supplies to function. 

We need volunteers to transform the dresses and embellishments into Angel Items, including gowns, caps, blankets, and Wraps.

We need to ship groupings of Angel items to hospitals, birthing centers, and mortuaries to be available to parents of pre-term babies who become An Angel Too Soon. 



There is, and will never be, a cost or fee to the families of the Angelbabies for these items.  Angelgownsbyjacki is careful to ensure that any institution we allow to provide our items to families in need will never, in any way, assess a fee.

A television interview about our mission resulted in a large influx of donated dresses, thus, we have dresses. 

We have a couple volunteers and several that help when they can, thus we have manpower (but can always use more).

All of the Angel items will then need to be shipped to locations that agree to supply them to the families of the Angelbabies. 

Reasonably, we expect to see lots and lots of shipments in our future.  Here is part 1 of our problem.  Normal packaging & shipping expenses for 20 garments is about $50 and expedited shipping is, of course, far more costly but necessary when we notified of a need at the last minute.

Part 2 is that we expect to be able to add additional locations (birthing centers and mortuaries) to our roster and supply them with Angel items now and in the future.  We need more locations.
Part 1 is immediate:  Generous benefactors periodically forward funds to defray shipping costs; however, we have a larger need in anticipation of substantial shipping costs for the dresses currently awaiting their transformation.  

Part 2 generally takes care of itself. 

Back to part 1:  The bottom line is that we are in the necessary, but uncomfortable, position of begging for funds.  I dislike raising funds but I see no other way.

Our 2016 Fundraiser is a first for us and has been happening in bits and spurts for a couple months.   I am very pleased with the response thus far and we have the funds to get two more shipments of Angel items out the door and on their way to birthing centers and we have almost enough for another shipment. 

The process I used to start the fundraiser worked but was both cumbersome and time consuming.  I have changed our Fundraiser process to hopefully make it more efficient for me.  Trust me when I say that I would much rather spend time in the studio sewing then pushing to raise funds.  

I feel it is important that you understand that the items offered in our fundraiser have been purchased at a very discounted amount, handmade, or donated for the purpose of raising funds for Angelgownsbyjacki.   I can not thank our sponsors enough for sending, donating, or making items for our Fundraiser.

Thus, we can not guarantee the items you purchase.  Please be assured, however, that we turn every stone to make sure that items are in excellent condition and are not misrepresented and that any item you purchase will be with that understanding.

The current installment of our 2016 Fundraiser features infinity scarves and accent scarves in cuddly and soft minky. 

After all, who doesn't love minky?




On our last motorcycle ride, we traveled up through the mountains into cooler air.

Of course, since we ride Harley Davidsons, I chose to wear a black minky infinity scarf.  I wrapped it three times to make it fairly snug around my neck.

I loved that the minky doesn't scratch or irritate me... which are reasons why I generally don't like scarves.

I wondered why I hadn't though of minky before??

18" Doll Clothes offered during Fundraiser 2016

Welcome to Fundraiser 2016.   Wonderful items for you, your home, or your family will be offered throughout the remainder of the year with all profits to Angelgownsbyjacki. 

This installment is all about the dolls.  Each grouping will be offered for a limited amount of time and for a specific amount as a Facebook event CLICK HERE .  A request, or contract, to purchase the offered item must meet or exceed the previous amount posted in comments under the photo of the item, or group of items, by at least $1.00. All profits to support Angelgownsbyjacki (shipping, etc will be paid from funds collected).

NOTE I am not sure why the coloring is so bad.  Will attempt to retake photos with outdoor lighting.

Fine Print:

• All profits will be used to support Angelgownsbyjacki.
• All items have been crafted or sewn by amateurs unless otherwise stated.  We have pets and take every step to remove any pet hair and dander from the items by fluffing in the dryer on low heat when possible.  We can pre-wash just prior to shipping if you wish.
• Some items were donated by supporters and fabric stores in Iowa and Arizona, including The Quilters Cupboard in Ankeny, Iowa, and The Quilters Market in Tucson, AZ.
• Angelgownsbyjacki can not accept responsibility for, or offer any guarantee of, the items offered in our fundraiser.
• Shipping method will be at Angelgownsbyjacki's option.   IF shipping to a location outside of the contiguous 48 states shipping, it will be at buyer's expense.

• Funds will be expected to be received by Angelgownsbyjacki within 15 business days of the AngelGownsbyJacki's acceptance of an offer to buy.  Transaction will be considered null and void if funds are not received as described within Fine Print.

Fundraiser 2015, Part 2

Our items for Part 2 of the Fundraiser 2016 is for our smaller followers....  our dolls, or the people that love them.  We are offering three quilt sets for dolls between August 23rd and August 30.

Flower Power in PINK is $15. 

Multiples may be available, differing only slightly from photo.

Bed not included.

 The quilt sets are easy care and made with cotton/poly or poly fabrics; fully machine wash and dry.

Leann Miller took possession of the Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too quilt today.  Leann generously purchased the quilt as part of our 2016 Fundraiser. 

Leann shared that she has always has a "thing" for Winnie the Pooh.

Personally, I think Leann's new granddaughter will be sleeping with Pooh as soon as the weather warrants it!

The first item offered will be our version of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.   This large baby quilt, measuring 41" x 52" will be available between August 4-9th.

The Winnie quilt is done in  100% cotton fabrics, including licensed Pooh fabric, chenille, olive green, white and cotton batting. 

The quilting is done in coordinating variegated thread which shows nicely in the Pooh squares and the chenille.

The quilt is machine wash and dry; however, you may want to take it out of the dryer while still damp and finish with a line dry.

Please note that due to all cotton materials, there will be a small amount of shrinkage after the first washing.  This will result in a softer and "puffier" quilt.

The asking price  Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too is $75, or highest amount offered over $75 between August 4 - 9, 2016. 

Remember that shipping to the contiguous 48 states is included in the price.  Outside the contiguous 48 states will be at the buyer's expense.

Should it not sell, it may be pulled and again offered later or donated to an organization in Iowa or Arizona that provides such items to children and families.  

Your contract to purchase may be entered AS AN AMOUNT on our Facebook page "Angelgownsbyjacki" under EVENTS. 

There, you will be able to see if the item has already been contracted and what the highest contract amount is at any given point.  You may wish to wait for another item or offer to purchase Wnnie the Pooh and Tigger Too at a higher price.

I have been in the studio.... and very busy sewing....  but not on Angel items.

I have been immersed in a plan to raise funds to continue our work.  Everyone dislikes fundraising but it seems there no way around it.

With the influx of donated dresses in the last year, funds are, and will be, sorely needed to continue supplying Angel items to the families of pre-term Angelbabies free of charge. 

Donations of materials (thread, ribbons, lace, etc) are received every few months and fill many gaps and reduce the need for cash for incidentals, but there is no work around to fund the cost of shipping, which continues to increase. 


For example:

• normal packaging & shipping expenses for 20 garments is about $50
• overnight shipping of an AngelPackage to a family who has an immediate need is approximately $50
• shipping an AngelPackage to a family with two day delivery is approximately $20

We are thrilled to have a two benefactors that periodically send funds to support our efforts, however, shipping costs eat into our budget very quickly.

Currently, funds to pay for approximately two shipments are in our coffers.

Over the next several months, we hope to raise sufficient funds to adequately cover shipping costs for the next year.   To this end, we will offer items for sale with all profits to support our work for those that become An Angel Too Soon.  These items will include handmade quilts, craft items, doll clothing, and whatever else we can come up with.  

I anticipate that this type of fundraising will be an annual event and we will be open to accepting donations of items from our supporters to be included in our fundraising efforts.
