They are just precious !

I work on Angel items an average of two full days each week.
This includes working on the Angel items themselves and the administrative work
(attaching cards, packaging, organizing, PR, and postcards).

I create the Angel items production-style, working on up to 10 at a time.

I cut the gowns and caps from many, many wedding dresses.
As I cut, I attach a note with the name donator on each gown/cap.

I pull a random batch from the pile of cut gowns and caps,
which allows me to use different donated dresses in each batch.

Working the gowns in this manner results in a good variety of AngelGowns and Caps
for each shipment to the birthing centers.

I then start rotating through the batch, doing the same step to each one:
stitching, pressing, stitching, more pressing, more stitching, etc, etc.

As I decorate, I also note the donator of the ribbons, etc.
on the note reflecting the donator's name.

Often, the embellishments from a donated dress will show up
on a gown that that is created from someone else's dress fabric.

I included a tape measure in some of the photos for scale.
These are just a few more ready for their sentiment cards to be readied for shipping!

Today's finishes

I have been busy getting ready for the March 29th Sewing for the Angels event.

I have a pile of gown and cap pieces ready to be embellished and assembled and I am working on  instructional samples to aid our sewers in completing their gowns and caps.

I also have a few completed sets to share with you.

lots to catch up on!!

Colleen Beckdolt donated her dress in memory of her father, Trey Coley, who loved children more than life itself.

This dress was sent without complete ID so all I have is a last name McAuliffe on the shipping label. If you recognize this dress, please contact me.

This dress was donated without any ID... its gorgeous! someone should take credit for such an amazing donation!

Kim Z is anxious to see how we transform her dress, and all that lace around the hem, into Angel items.

Kathy Kauffman donated both her dress and her veil to the Angels.  The embellishments on the veil will be used on the AngelCaps made to match the AngelGowns that are created from her dress.

So much beautiful fabric and so much to do!!!

Now on to the AngelBlankets!  And none too soon!!!

How did she know that I was down to about 4 left of her previous shipment!!

Look at all these glorious AngelBlankets and AngelCaps sent by Nadine H.   They are so soft and snuggly too!!

thank you, Nadine, for your generous hands!
